Ridge – These are the tiles that run along the top of your roof. These are generally concrete or clay.

Hips – These are similar to the ridge bit they run down the roof from the top to the bottoms corners. These are generally concrete or clay.

Valley – This is an internal part of your roof which is where two angles join, it is generally made of lead or GRP sheet.

Verge – This runs above a gable wall, and is usually filled with concrete although some more modern houses are using dry systems.

Eave Tile – Is the tile that sits nearest to the guttering.

Vent/ Vent Tile – This allows air flow into your roof or can be connected to an extractor fan or an SVP (Soil Vent Pipe).
